Volunteer work by ITT staff in Gambia (África)

Between 24 March and April, several of our ITT colleagues travelled to Gambia to work as volunteers in two of the centres with which we collaborate in Gambia with Caminos Solidarios.

Work was done at 2 schools:

Manduar:

- Cleaning, painting classrooms, painting exterior walls and making swings with wheels. Delivery of clothes and school material.
- In Manduar the NGO that helped them disappeared and they had not received salaries or money to buy school material or make reforms in the school for 2 years. It was very abandoned and after the work done a decent school was left for the children.
- At ITT the aim is to help in a sustainable way so that the school never stops having what it needs.

Sare Bigi:

- Games and workshops with the children.
- Delivery of clothes and school material.
- ITT sponsored the construction of a second class module and a wall to protect the orchard from animals in the area.

From ITT we encourage you to participate in these projects hand in hand with Caminos Solidarios; as far as you can and consider appropiate: There are formulas of all kinds, as a memeber, with occasional donations, sponsoring a cup of milk... as volunteers and of course, we encourage you to visit Gambia!
